About Dr. Jason Forward

The Tulsa Chiropractor Who Keeps It Simple

If you have ever walked out of a chiropractic office more confused than when you walked in, you know exactly why Vanguard Chiropractic exists. Dr. Jason Forward is a Tulsa chiropractor with one goal: help you move better and hurt less, then get out of your way.

He opened Vanguard Chiropractic in the Brookside area of Midtown Tulsa because he saw how broken the system was for regular people. Most folks paying insurance copays are paying more than $40 per visit anyway. So he cut out the middleman, kept it cash-pay, and set one price.

As both the chiropractor and owner, Dr. Jason is the person who sees you every time. There is no rotating cast of associates. You get the same doctor who knows your history, communicates clearly, and tells you the truth about what is going on in your body.

Why does it only cost $40? Read the full story.

Education and Background

Trained Right. Then Tested by Real Life.

Dr. Jason earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker University in Dallas, one of the most respected chiropractic schools in the country. He also holds a business degree from Arizona State University, which is a big part of why Vanguard runs the way it does.

The combination of clinical training and business education shows up every day at Vanguard Chiropractic. The pricing is transparent. The visits are efficient. The communication is clear. That is not an accident.

U.S. Navy Service

Before Chiropractic, There Was the Ship

There is a version of discipline you only learn when you are working deep in the hull of a Navy warship. Dr. Jason knows that version.

He served as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate in Fuels, rating ABF, aboard the USS Tarawa out of San Diego and Long Beach. His job was in the JP-5 pump rooms at the bottom of the ship, getting aviation jet fuel from the ship's tanks to the flight deck safely and on time. That takes serious systems knowledge and zero tolerance for cutting corners.

That is not glamorous work. It is hot, mechanical, loud, and it matters enormously. The military gave him structure, accountability, and the habit of doing the job right whether anyone is watching or not. You see that in how Vanguard runs. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just care you can count on.

His Philosophy

I Do Not Actually Fix Anything. Your Body Does.

I tell patients this at some point and I mean it. My job as a Tulsa chiropractor is not to heal you. I cannot do that. What I can do is remove the mechanical interference that is preventing your body from doing what it already knows how to do.

Your spine, joints, and nervous system have an enormous capacity to self-regulate and recover when the mechanical interference is removed and the inputs change. My part is to find what is blocked, restore the motion, reduce the compression, and then get out of the way. That is the whole job.

But here is the part nobody wants to hear. That only works if you show up for your end of it. The healthcare system is very good at emergencies. It is not built to help you move better, feel stronger, and prevent the slow breakdown most people accept as normal aging. That is the gap chiropractic fills when it is done right.

The Declaration and the Patient Covenant go deeper on this if you want to understand how I think before you walk in.

A Different Kind of Practice

What You Can Actually Expect When You Walk In

Most people searching for a Tulsa chiropractor in Brookside or Midtown have already had a bad experience somewhere. Long intake forms. High-pressure consultations. Treatment plans that seem to go on forever. That is not what happens here.

You walk in during open hours. Dr. Jason does a quick evaluation and explains what he is finding as he goes. If an adjustment makes sense, he does it. He tells you what to watch for, what to do at home, and whether he thinks you should come back.

If the problem is outside chiropractic, he will tell you that too. Referrals happen. Honesty is non-negotiable. Here is how walk-in visits work at Vanguard Chiropractic.

What I Use to Adjust You

One Body, Several Methods

Most patients get a manual adjustment, fast and effective. But I do not run every body through the same method. Depending on what you need that visit, I also use an ArthroStim instrument, a drop table, and the Pettibon technique. For the soft tissue around the joint, I use IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue work), trigger-point pin-and-stretch, and mobility work.

Active Life

He Lives What He Talks About

Dr. Jason is a CrossFit athlete, skier, hiker, and dog dad to Warren and Bobby. That active life matters, it means he understands what athletes and active Tulsans need from their bodies. Come in with a shoulder injury from CrossFit or a back wrecked after a ski trip, and he gets it.

Stretch Haven

Thai Yoga Bodywork in Tulsa

Nahla Forward operates Stretch Haven at the same address as Vanguard Chiropractic, right alongside the Tulsa chiropractor practice. Her work is different from chiropractic but complementary to it.

Thai yoga bodywork works with the body through assisted stretching, breath, and targeted pressure along the body's natural lines of tension. Where Dr. Jason restores joint motion, Nahla works the tissue that surrounds it. It is not massage therapy. It is assisted bodywork that helps the body let go of what it has been holding onto.
